Tailrace Centre is a wedding and function venue located on the banks of the Kanamaluka / Tamar River in Riverside, Tasmania, approximately 6 to 10 minutes from the Launceston CBD. Operating for over 15 years, the venue offers indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception spaces, including the secluded Willow Lawn with trees and fire pits, the glass-walled Tamar Room with mountain and river views, and the Chapel which features wooden ceilings and floor-to-ceiling glass looking onto a water garden. The facility includes five to six versatile event spaces, such as the Freycinet Room which can seat up to 600 guests or 650 standing, and features retractable walls for flexible configurations.
The venue provides comprehensive wedding services, including in-house and off-site catering, event setup, furniture, tableware, basic AV, and a dedicated styling team with various packages. Additional onsite amenities include Jude’s Cafe and Kids Paradise, a two-story children's playground. Tailrace Centre also offers celebrant services, which include legal documentation lodgment, ceremony development, and ongoing marriage encouragement. The center is committed to social and environmental sustainability, featuring 222 solar panels, LED lighting transitions, and youth wellbeing programs.
